OC6711 is a highly integrated and costeffective Light Emitting Diode (LED) DC-DCoptimized for LCD monitor and LCD TVbacklighting application. It provides a highperformance LED backlight solution withminimized BOM count.The OC6711 contains a PWM boost driverwhich uses current mode control and fixedfrequency operation to regulate the LEDcurrent. The LED current is sensed through anexternal current sense resistor. The voltageacross the sensing resistor is compared withreference level of 400mV, the error is amplifiedto control the pulse width of the power switchthus to regulate the current flowing the LED.The OC6711 offers PWM to analog dimmingmethod for a wide range of dimming control.The OC6711 offers comprehensive protectionsuch as power MOSFET over currentprotection (OCP), output over voltageprotection (OVP), Diode & Inductor shortprotection, IC power supply under voltagelockout (UVLO), and LED open protection.
