OC6710 is a highly integrated and costeffective Light Emitting Diode (LED) driveroptimized for LCD monitor and LCD TVbacklighting application. It provides a highperformance LED backlight solution withminimized BOM count.The OC6710 build-in Power MOSFET andcontains a PWM boost driver which usescurrent mode control and fixed frequencyoperation to regulate the LED current. The LEDcurrent is sensed through an external currentsense resistor. The voltage across the sensingresistor is compared with reference level of400mV, the error is amplified to control thepulse width of the power switch thus to regulatethe current flowing the LED.The OC6710 offers PWM to analog dimmingmethod for a wide range of dimming control.The OC6710 offers comprehensive protectionsuch as power MOSFET over currentprotection (OCP), output over voltageprotection (OVP), Diode & Inductor shortprotection, IC power supply under voltagelockout (UVLO), and LED open protection.The OC6710 adopts ESOP8 package. Theexposed pad is connected to SW.
